Key Findings

• — Among generative-AI users, the categories shared with the tools were work or study topics 73%, personal tastes such as films or music 58%, feelings and emotions 54%, health data such as symptoms and exams 52%, photos of themselves or acquaintances 50%, personal finances 41%, and identifying data such as name, address, birth date or CPF 37%.
• — 66% of generative-AI users are concerned or very concerned about the use of their personal data by the companies behind the tools, higher among those using both phone and computer and among the most educated.
• — 32% of internet users aged 16 and over (about 45 million people) reported an attempted scam using their personal data, most often through messaging apps (84%) and phone calls (79%).
• — The release characterises generative AI as being used, beyond work and study, as an adviser, emotional support and company.

Methodology Notes

Individuals component from the TIC Panel 2025: 2,500 internet users aged 16 and over across all regions, online interviews (CAWI) in December 2025, weights modelled to the TIC Domicílios 2024 internet-user profile; web-panel sample rather than probability-based household sampling.
