AXA Mind Health Report 2026
Sixth edition of AXA's annual Mind Health study, run with Ipsos among 19,000 adults aged 18 to 75 in 18 countries between 12 January and 16 February 2026. The 2026 edition reports a further fall in the Mind Health Index (46% of respondents languishing or struggling; 59% of 18 to 34-year-olds; ten of the 16 countries surveyed in every wave at their lowest since 2021), adds screen-time items (5.1 hours a day outside work), and for the first time measures the use of artificial intelligence for mental-health matters. 61% of respondents say they already use AI for mental-health questions (63% in Ipsos's summary); 42% of those users almost always follow its advice; 55% are satisfied with it; 32% have felt uncomfortable with advice received; more than one in four say an AI recommendation led them to engage in harmful behaviour; 38% say they trust AI platforms more than mental-health professionals when seeking advice.
