Che cosa pensano dell'intelligenza artificiale gli studenti della scuola secondaria in Italia: Sintesi dei risultati dell'indagine nazionale "Io e l'Intelligenza Artificiale" (2026)
Summary report of a national classroom survey of 5,342 Italian lower- and upper-secondary students on their use of and attitudes to generative AI, run between March and June 2026. Key Findings
- 94% of students use AI at least occasionally and 62% weekly or daily; 84% use it for study, and for about half of those (51%) it is a regular study tool.
- 53% have used AI at least once to vent or work through a personal problem as a 'digital confidant' (28% rarely, 15% fairly often, 10% many times); confiding is more frequent among heavy study users.
- 76% say they trust AI answers and 62% say they verify them, but 55% of the most-trusting and 56.1% of the least-trusting students never verify, which the authors call a paradox of trust.
- 44% agree that AI use can make students too dependent and 'think less with their own head' (15% strongly).
- Two intensive relationship profiles together cover 53% of students (33% plus 20%).
